The Principality of Ilhue da Pontinha Diplomatic Mission to the United Kingdom

Welcome...

The aim of the UK Diplomatic Mission for the Principado Ilhéu da Pontinha is two fold:

Firstly, to gain recognition for the Principality of Pontinha from the international community. The Principality was created by Royal Charter by King Carlos 1st of Portugal in 1903, granting sovereignty to the owners of the “fort and the rock upon which it stands”.

Secondly, to help raise awareness of HRH Prince Renato Barros campaign to bring democracy to the International Monetary Fund and thereby creating a freer, more just system of banking which will benefit all the people of the world rather than a select few.

This office intends to do this by using the following:

  • Raising public awareness of the Principality by a concerted media campaign.
  • Lobbying the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office for recognition.
  • Lobbying foreign embassies based here in the UK.
